The Situation
We were in the neighborhood offering free roof inspections, and this homeowner said yes. Hail had come through Bastrop on the night of April 9, 2024, with storm reports of hail from 1 inch up to 2 inches in diameter.
What We Found
The inspection found hail hits on the shingles and damaged roof vents. The hail had also damaged the gutters, fence, window screens and garage door. We documented all of it for the homeowner’s insurance claim.

- Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles in Driftwood. They’re rated Class 3 for impact resistance (UL 2218) and may qualify for a homeowner insurance discount, depending on your insurance company.

The Result
The whole roof, 39 squares across 6/12 and 8/12 pitches, was replaced in one day. After the install, we did a final roof inspection, cleaned up the site and walked the homeowner through the new roof. Driftwood’s mix of brown and gray sets off the home’s red brick.
